Q&A

Frequently Asked Questions.

  • A: This is a great question that we’re asked about all the time – but is really like asking how long is a piece of string!

Your best bet is to come into the store and get some obligation-free advice and quotes for the art or object you want framed. The cost of getting something framed will depend on things like the size and shape of the item you want to frame, the type and style of frame or frames you like, and whether we use matboard (singular) or matboards (plural), glass or acrylic (etc etc)...

  • A: There sure is!

At Henna Street Picture Framers, we always aim to show you the AMAZING option, and can find an AMAZING solution to just about every kind of framing situation you might be facing.

The best option is always going to be a combination of smart style choices, beautiful colours, textures and composition that really complement your artwork or object – combined with a price that suits your budget. So, please pop into the store and have a chat, and we’ll show you what AMAZING can look like. :)

  • A: Of course!! Everything is worth getting framed (you’re asking a couple of picture framers, right!) – and we love framing all sorts of wonderful things.

If it is important and special to you, and if it makes you smile or remember someone special or a special event – or even if you just like the look of it! – it should be framed, displayed on your wall and enjoyed every. single. day.

  • A: You sure can! We can frame almost anything.

Over the years, we’ve framed a lot of stuff, including:

artworks and prints – photographs, documents, degrees, certificates, maps, original artworks and prints

antique prints and maps mirrors music memorabilia – vinyl records, band posters and tickets

special objects – (including, but by no means limited to!) medals, dog tags, bits of coral, fishing lures, wine bottles, books, jigsaws, graduation hats, dinosaur teeth, baby shoes, tennis racquets and much, much more!

sporting memorabilia – football/cricket/soccer/basketball jerseys, caps, bats, racquets, balls, tickets and other merchandise, textiles, embroidery and needlework.

We also do a lot of canvas stretching and float framing for indigenous and contemporary artworks.

If, in the unlikely event you’ve managed to come in with something super tricky and we don't know to frame it, we will try our hardest to find someone who can frame it for you.

    Thank you so much.

  • A: First of all, congrats for owning such a treasure!, but secondly, eek!

We can't do anything about Fluffy, but you’d be surprised how many frames come in with smashed glass. The good news is that we can easily replace the damaged glass, and either repair or replace the frame depending on the damage.

… and if you're after extra security (in the event you decide to keep the cat), we’re probably going to suggest using acrylic instead of glass!

  • A: Awesome! Yes! We love those tricky, interesting jobs where we can try out exciting, gorgeous materials and innovative new techniques! Bring in your ideas and drawings to show us, and let's see what we can do!

  • A: Bring it in and let us have a look – we can certainly put a wire on it but we can't guarantee that the frame will hold.

  • A: Unfortunately, we don't have the room for any printing equipment at the moment…too many frames, you know! However, we can point you in the right direction…

  • A: Yep, we have some really nice ready-made hardwood frames at standard sizes that look great. Come on in to the store to have a look, and see what takes your fancy!
